Billboard news | Post Malone named top artist for the second year in a row

Billboard is looking back at the artists who secured No. 1s on their charts this year, and 2020 sees Post Malone as their top-charting artist for the second year in a row.

The 1st time an act has gone back-to-back as the year’s top artist since Adele in 2011 and 2012.

Post Malone is also the first male artist to lead the list in successive years since Garth Brooks in 1992 and 1993.

Postys’ chart-topping third album Hollywood’s Bleeding, which spent five weeks at No. 1 back in 2019, stayed in the Top 15 for the rest of the 2020.His record-breaking hit “Circles” spent 34 weeks in the Top 10, beating his own previous record of 33 weeks with the Swae Lee collaboration “Sunflower.”

Despite not putting out an album in 2020, the rapper has appeared on a couple of music videos. Posty lent a verse on Tyla Yaweh’s track “Tommy Lee,” which he performed at the BMAs this year, as well as Ty Dolla Sign’s “Spicy”.
