Rick Ross and other celebrities give back with various toy drives across the country

The rap veteran Rick Ross shut down Walmarts across the country this weekend to host toy drives for kids as the holidays approach. He actually born in Clarksdale, Mississippi, where he returned this weekend to host one of the drives.

On Instagram, Ross revealed that members of his own family were also at the event.

“Once again, I wanna commend you for all the great work you are doing, You are making it much easier for brothers to come back and give back because a lot of times a lot of technical things going on, but you kept it simple; so we are right here.” – said he.

“We invited a lot of families out, man, and I just wanted to thank you,” rapper added.

Clips shared on Ross’ Instagram show a line of shoppers, including kids and families, waiting to receive special presents from the rapper. Some of the gifted items included Puma, FILA and Converse sneakers.

Ross will be joined by Jack Harlow, Monica, DJ Drama and Pastor Troy for the Jan. 3 event, which is intended to encourage Georgia voters to hit the booths for the state’s U.S. Senate runoff election. Obama, Janelle Monáe, Tracee Ellis Ross, Kerry Washington, Jeezy and others are also expected to attend.
