less than three weeks left before President Donald Trump’s one-term presidency comes to an end (January 20), and Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty asked him to commute Kodak Black’s federal prison sentence.
“Hey @realDonaldTrump my friend @KodakBlack1k deserves to be commuted, The system punished him way to hard for a paperwork crime #freekodak.” – tweeted Lil Yachty and shared his opinion more than 5 million twitter followers.

The Florida rapper Kodak Black is currently serving 12 months in prison. He was sentenced 46 months in prison on federal weapons charges. Prosecutors said two of the guns were later found by the police at crime scenes, including one with Black’s fingerprints and a live round in the chamber that had been used to fire at a “rival rap artist.” Black has not been charged in the shooting.
Kodak has been heavily petitioning for his release since filing a lawsuit alleging brutal treatment from prison employees.
Donald Trump has yet to respond.
