It is not known when TDE songstress SZA will drop the long-awaited follow-up to her 2017 debut album CTRL, but she promises it will be fire.
“This album is going to be the s-t that made me feel something in my…[heart] and in [my gut], That is what is going to go on the album. I am making all different types of s-t every day from different places in my spirit.” – Said SZA in her new interview with Cosmopolitan.
In September SZA released Ty Dolla $ign-assisted “Hit Different”, then followed it up with the release of “Good Days” on Christmas Eve.
In the new cover story, she also positively addressed her Best New Artist snub at the 2018 Grammy Awards.
“I am just a girl from the ’burbs. I never had dreams of being nominated for a Grammy,” she says. “I thought I was going to be a gymnast and a f— business accountant somewhere. Or working at Nike corporate or some s-t in Portland. Who knows, but something that involved a power suit. So it’s not a heavy burden. Once you’ve been nominated and lost, you are very much free because you are not concerned. I passed that threshold years ago—it’s an old energy to me. Why would I be mad?”
