One year ago today, Eminem released “Music To Be Murdered By”

One year ago on January 17, 2020 Eminem released his 11th studio album “Music To Be Murdered By”. It was released as a surprise album in a similar fashion to his 10th studio album Kamikaze which was released in 2018.

The album features guest appearances from Juice WRLD, Don Toliver,  Anderson.Paak, Young M.A, Royce Da 5’9, Black Thought, Q-Tip, Denaun, Ed Sheeran, KXNG Crooked, Joell Ortiz, White Gold and Skylar Grey.

MTBMB sold 279,000 equivalent units in the US and 415,000 units worldwide in the first week of release. Since then it has sold over 1.2M units in the US and over 2M units worldwide.

With the sales 287,000 pure copies Music To Be Murdered By was the 9th best selling album of 2020 in the United States.

Godzilla ft Juice WRLD debuted at number one in the UK. This song also earned Eminem entry in Guinness World Record, Fastest rap in number one single- In the third verse of Godzilla Eminem spits 225 words in 30 seconds, that’s 7.5 words per second. Eminem breaks his own record on Godzilla, previously in Nicki Minaj’s “Majesty” Eminem rapped 78 words in 12 seconds that’s 6.5 words per second.

With the release of “Music To Be Murdered By” Eminem became the first solo artist in the history of Billboard to have 10 consecutive albums at number one.
