NMPA reveals biggest songwriter of 2020 Q4

On February 1, the National Music Publishers’ Association Gold & Platinum Program announced the biggest songwriters of the 2020 Quarter 4, in which 21 Savage claimed first place. The Atlanta rapper coincidentally earned total of 21 platinum and gold certifications in October, November and December combined last year, Trippie Redd took the second place with nineteen plaques. Reportedly Travis Scott was at 3rd place.

NMPA President and CEO David Israelite stated:

“2020 was a huge year for music as more and more people turned to it for entertainment and comfort as the pandemic continued on. I commend the songwriters certified in Q4 for their creativity and perseverance through this unprecedented time. Particularly 21 Savage who proved his dominance with solo and collaborations that went five and six times Multi-Platinum.”

Savage and Metro Boomin dropped their highly-anticipated collab project Savage Mode II in October 2020, which was follow up to first one. Record had 15 songs and  which featured Morgan Freeman as a narrator. Album debuted at No. 1  on the Billboard 200.
