Lil Yachty is making an action movie based on a card game

New York based rapper Lil Yachty  is developing an action heist comedy based on  popular Uno card game with Mattel Films, Variety reported on Feb 4.

“I’m so excited to be part of this film with Mattel,” said Yachty, who recently released a cereal box with Reese Puffs project,
“I played Uno as a kid and still do today, so to spin that into a movie based on the Atlanta hip hop scene I came out of is really special. It hits close to home for me.”

Cast for the movie has not been announced yet, but Lil Yachty is being considered for lead role. Plot revolves around underground hip hop world of Atlanta, screenplay was written by Marcy Kelly. 

The executive producer at Mattel Films, Robbie Brenner spoke about partnership with record label. “At Mattel Films, we are looking to explore stories that bring our brands to life in unexpected ways,” stated Brenner. “Uno is a game that transcends generations and cultures and we look forward to partnering with Lil Yachty, as well as with Coach, P, and Brian Sher, to transform the classic Uno game into a comedic action adventure.”

Uno was created in a Cincinnati barbershop in the 1970s as a way for families to spend time together. After almost fifty years later, game is available in more than 80 countries.
