Canadian R&B artist The Weeknd performed first time at Super Bowl Halftime. The stage was set in the stands right next to the Raymond James pirate ship.
The Weeknd spent his own money for the performance, “Due to COVID and for the safety of the players and the workers we kind of built the stage within the stadium and we’re also using the field as well but we wanted to kind of do something that we’ve never done before,” he said. “So we built the stage in the stadium but I’m not gonna tell you anything else, because you’ll have to watch on Sunday”, said The Weeknd.
Abel started the performance with his single “Call Out My Name” with city lights and Pepsi logos behind him, then proceeded to perform his 2016 mega hit “StarBoy”. He ended the performance with his one of the biggest hits “Blinging Lights”.
