The Brooklyn native Bobby Shmurda had served a portion of his seven-year sentence in upstate New York prison. He was released on Tuesday. Shmurda was arrested at age 20 in late 2014. The rapper was sentenced to seven years in prison back in 2016, but back in January Reports were widely circulated that Bobby Shmurda has been granted early release from prison on February 23, 2021.
After his release, Shmurda said some warming words for his fans
“Thank you for remaining loyal and for riding this six year sentence out with me, I love you all and look forward to seeing you soon.”
Shortly after his prison release, hip-hop community took to social media to welcome Shmurda home including Chris Brown, Meek Mill, Rich the Kid, Lil Durk and more.
