At last night’s Golden Globes Awards, Daniel Kaluuya quoted the late Nipsey Hussle during an acceptance speech that was in the start spoiled by technical difficulties.
Kaluuya took home the first award of the mostly virtual event, Best Supporting Actor, for his portrayal of Black Panther leader Fred Hampton in the critically acclaimed film Judas And The Black Messiah. Movie follows FBI informant William O’Neal as he infiltrates the Illinois Black Panther Party in order to learn more about Fred Hampton.
The Golden Globes and Kaluuya’s speech both began with technical difficulties, but they were eventually resolved. Actor noted that the role helped him grow as a man. “And I couldn’t give it to a more noble man. That is Fred Hampton and I hope generations after this can see how brilliant he fought, how brilliantly he spoke and how brilliantly he loved,”
