Fat Joe claims he started recording an album with Biggie filled with Tupac diss tracks

On March 9, 24 years ago, hip hop legend Notorious B.I.G. was shot four times in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles, California.

Recently, during a conversation with Verzuz founders Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, rap icon Fat Joe revealed that he had started working on an album with Biggie before his death.

“We cut about five songs together,’ Joe said. “He was like, ‘You the Latino don, I’m the Black don.’ And we was in that studio going crazy. It’s verified by Puff Daddy and everybody. I’ma keep it real – at the time, we were dissing Tupac a lot and all that and so that should have never seen the light of day. Which is respectfully so, because you know they both passed on. But yeah, I worked with the B.I.G. for real.”

Few weeks ago, Netflix has announced a new documentary about Notorious B.I.G. Titled Biggie: I Got a Story to Tell, coming out March 1, 2021. Prior to that, Swizz and Timbaland shared plans to do a Biggie vs. Tupac Verzuz battle.
