Watch : CJ enlists French Montana and Rowdy Rebel on “Whoopty” Remix

Puerto Rican rapper CJ’s breakout hit song “Whoopty” has now been remixed by New York rappers French Montana and Rowdy Rebel. “Whoopty” was initially re- released last year by Warner Records after signing CJ, the song samples Bollywood track “Sanam Re” and includes elements of now popular Brooklyn Drill. It has sold more than 1 Million units in U.S. and now received Platinum status last month.

In an exclusive interview with HipHopDX CJ revealed what inspired the song “We had lost Pop [Smoke], may he rest in peace, and I felt that we were missing that energy, that New York bop, that New York swag. You know what I’m saying? We was missing that whole lane.” CJ also wanted another Brooklyn rapper Cardi B on the song’s remix.
