On the latest update by RIAA this month, Rapper/ Producer Tyler, The Creator has earned multi platinum certifications for his songs “See You Again” ft. Kali Uchis (2017) and “EARFQUAKE” (2019) which includes uncredited guest feature from Playboi Carti.

See You Again was previously certified  Platinum and now it receives Double Platinum status whereas EARFQUAKE was previously certified Double Platinum ,now it’s updated to triple Platinum.

Interestingly both of the songs which undeniably help Tyler propel in mainstream were intended for other artists. Tyler revealed he wrote “Flower Boy” cut “See You Again” for One Direction member Zayn Malik .

fun fact: i wrote ‘see you again’ for zayn but that bitch flaked on studio time twice, so i kept the ref for myself, worked out actually

Similar situation happened for his IGOR cut “Earfquake” when he send the song to Justin Bieber and Rihanna’s team but was passed by both of the pop icons.
