Hip-Hop artists included in Time’s Most Influential People Of The Year’s List

Time magazine has unleashed their annual list of Top 100 Most Influential People Of The Year, which honors different people around the globe making the difference.

From the HipHop community Times has selected the brains behind the infamous Verzuz, Swizz Beatz, and Timbaland in the Titans category. Meanwhile, 22-year-old hitmaker and openly LGBTQ rapper/singer Lil Nas X is included in the Artists category.

RnB singer Brandy wrote a tribute on Time Magazine for Swizz Beatz and Timbaland chronicling their work as Verzuz co-founder during the pandemic:

They found a way to give artists their flowers while they’re still here and to bring us all together, and it’s brilliant.”

Kid Cudi penned a tribute for Lil Nas X on Times Magazine praising him “To have a gay man in hip-hop doing his thing, crushing records—that is huge for us and for Black excellence. The way he’s unafraid to make people uncomfortable is so rock ’n’ roll. He’s a true rock star.
