Back in August Kanye West filed a petition to change his name to Ye — just Ye with no middle or last name. West cited ‘Personal reasons’ for the name.
Just a few hours ago Mr. West has successfully (and legally) changed his name to Ye as Supreme Court judge Michelle Williams has signed off his petition.

In 2018 during the promo interview for his album titled ‘Ye’, West explained the meaning behind ‘Ye’
“I believe Ye is the most commonly used word in the Bible, and in the Bible, it means ‘you. So I’m you. I’m us. It’s us It went from being Kanye, which means the only one, to just Ye being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confused, our everything.”
With the name change, the 44-year-old iconic musician is also looking to gain some business opportunities in the fashion masks industry as TMZ reports Ye’s company filed legal docs to trademark the name “Ye” for use on “sanitary masks for protection against viral infection.”
