Travis Scott releases first official statement following the tragedy at the opening of Astroworld Festival

Last night was the opening of Travis Scott’s annual Astroworld Festival.

The event took a tragic turn as eight people were killed and over 300 people are reported to have been injured and hospitalized.

People have been criticizing the rapper and claiming that festival was understaffed and unprepared. Huston Police and Fire department had been at the scene whole night trying their best to save lives.

All day #Astroworldfest has been trending on Twitter where people share videos from the festival that shows just how uncontrollable the crowd was. There are videos of fans jumping and dancing on security cars that were trying to get to injured people. There are also videos of people begging the festival staff to stop the show.

Travis Scott, who did stop the show at least twice to make sure that fan’s were okay, has been silent all day but finally, about an hour ago, rapper made his first official statement on Twitter regarding last night’s events.

“I’m absolutely devastated by what took place last night. My prayers go out to the families and all those impacted by what happened at Astroworld festival.” – wrote the 29 year old rapper.
