NLE Choppa explains why people compare him to 2 Pac and Michael Jackson

Bryson Lashun Potts, better known by his stage name NLE Choppa, is a Memphis rapper. His 2019 single “Shotta Flow” was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and charted in the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100.

The 19-year-old rapper is getting close to releasing his upcoming album, “Me vs. Me”.  Earlier this month, NLE was present at the Rolling Loud Festival where he spoke with the Power 106 radio. The Memphis rhymer was asked if he had ever been compared to another musician and his response made quite a commotion.

“I get a lot of Michael Jackson cause the type of energy I bring.” Claimed the rapper, “Somebody even said I look like him, I don’t know.”

He went on to recall the other parallels he usually gets, saying:

“I get 2 Pac too because of what I stand for, what type of principles I stand for outside the music. See, with me, it’s not about the music all the time, it’s about who I can impact, whose life I can change.”

Some of the fans were not happy about these comparisons. People took to Twitter to express their opinions, prompting NLE Choppa to clarify his comments. The “Shotta Flow” singer shared a post on Twitter which read:

“These comparisons got nothing to do with me musically. Everything to do with what I stand for outside of it. I’m prolific I stand for some that can change the world.”
