Drake gets new tattoo as a tribute to Virgil Abloh

Last month the sudden loss of iconic fashion designer Virgil Abloh shook not only the fashion industry but the hip hop fraternity as well. Virgil has designed memorable album cover for some of the notable rap/hip hop releases in last year and his comradery with the rappers like Kanye, Drake, and more is well known.

In honor of the late icon and friend Rap superstar Drake has paid tribute in his own way. Today an image has been shared by the tattoo artist Ganga which showcases Drake’s new ink piece which is actually taken from Virgil’s 2018 photo where he was throwing a kite from a runway.

Virgil Abloh lost his life in November due to a long-fought battle with an aggressive form of cancer. He has famously contributed to Drake’s $185 million worth Patek watch he also made him custom Jet which is known as Air Drake.

After his death Drake posted on Instagram with pictures of Abloh saying “My plan is to touch the sky 1000 more times for you…love you eternally brother. thank you for everything”.
