Chance the Rapper is a gifted performer who has demonstrated his versatility by performing in a number of genres, but still, his country abilities were a surprise.

When the 28-year-old rapper appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s show, he took part in the late-night host’s “Musical Genre Challenge,” where he got to show off his country music skills. He was tasked with doing a country version of Nelly’s iconic song “Hot in Herre.” Chance made the diamond-certified single seem like a folky song.

Chance the Rapper’s cover of “Hot in Herre” will be featured on Fallon’s upcoming show. Entertainment Weekly says the program will feature several music-themed tasks. The Musical Genre Challenge will require contestants to sing and remix a range of songs in variety of styles.

“Hot in Herre” was the lead song on Nelly’s sophomore album Nellyville. It won the 2003 Grammy Award for best male rap solo performance back in 2003 and dominated the Billboard Hot 100 as it took the number 1 spot on the charts.
