On Tuesday, January 12, a new report came out claiming that Kanye is planning a trip to Russia to meet with Vladimir Putin. The goal of the trip, according to Billboard, is to host a number of Sunday Service activities while in the nation. According to Ameer Sudan, the Chicago rapper would also concentrate on commercial affairs while in the region.
“Russia is going to be a second home for Ye. He will be spending a lot of time out there,” claimed Sudan
Depending on Ye’s availability, the travel arrangements will take place somewhere during the spring or summer of 2022.
Ye is said to be negotiating new business partnerships with Aras Agalarov, a close acquaintance of Putin. Aras is the head of the Crocus Group and has been dubbed the “Trump of Russia” due to the way he frequently self-brands his skyscrapers. He and his son collaborated with Donald Trump to bring the Miss Universe pageant to Moscow in 2013 and were in talks for a Trump Tower development project that never materialized. Kanye’s trip to Russia appears to be beneficial in more ways than one.
Ye also intends to work with Emin Agalarov in order to increase Emin’s popularity in the United States. Emin Agalarov is a musician who was schooled by Muslim Magomayev, a well-known Russian performer known as “the Soviet Sinatra.”
As part of his Sunday Service initiative, Ye intends to play gospel music and plans to bring Putin as a special guest to the Service.
It is worth noting that during his well publicized interview with Drink Champskanye in November 2021, Ye compared himself to Putin: “I’m Putin, I run it” he said while talking about his role in Gap and Adidas.
