Legendary Hip Hop producer Pete Rock has shocked the rap fans from his latest statement made to Page Six. 48 year old ground breaking producer claimed that he has not been paid a cent for contributing in Nas’ classsic album ‘Illmatic’. Pete notably has writing, production and vocal on album’s song ‘The World Is Yours’.

“Nas and his people have stonewalled me since 1994; My New Year’s resolution is to be compensated for my hard work on ‘Illmatic.” Pete Rock told Page Six in an exclusive interview.

Pete alongwith attorneys are now planning to file a lawsuit in January as they claimed Queens icon Nas has signed a contract that would allow the producer a cut of the proceeds from the classic track “The World Is Yours,” a total that’s now in the millions of dollars.

‘The World Is Yours’ is the only certified song from the double Platinum album ‘Illmatic’. It’s also sampled many times in past three decades from rappers like Eminem , Jay-Z , Lil Wayne , Rick Ross and Mac Miller.
