Jay-Z opens up about his “In My Lifetime, Vol.1,” Says it “haunts” him

On Sunday, Jigga returned to Twitter to express his feelings on his 1997 studio album, “In My Lifetime, Vol. 1”

A Questlove comment prompted Jay-Z to return to Twitter and clear up some things with his fans. On January 16th, Questlove responded to a tweet that claimed Jay-Z’s single “Sunshine” was hated for no real reason and that it “got an unnecessary bad rap.”

“Our main argument is his hate for Vol 1. He is embarrassed for trying to make a monster & not putting numbers up. But ALOT of this lp contains his best moments. Fight me @ [Jay-Z]” -Tweeted Qeustlove at Hova.

The New York rapper responded to this tweet, writing:

“Agreed . More so, I know what could have been, so it haunts me.  Streets is watching was the first song made !”

To be sure, this isn’t the first time Jay-Z has expressed his dissatisfaction with Vol. 1. Back in 2013 Jigga ranked his own albums and Vol.1 took the 7th spot in the list.
