Vic Mensa makes the first statement after being arrested for trying to smuggle narcotics from Africa
Rapper Vic Mensa was detained at Dulles International Airport in Washington D.C. on January 15, after the US border officers discovered forbidden substances in his baggage. According to TMZ, the 28-year-old rapper was in possession of Psychedelic drugs.
As reported, Vic Mensa was arrested after returning to the United States from Africa, specifically, from Ghana. The Chicago rapper landed at the D.C. airport at 7 a.m. During a secondary search, authorities discovered what they suspected to have been Psilocybin, aka. shrooms.
According to the statement, Vic was facing felony drugs possession accusations. The rapper’s representatives have been quiet for the past two days since the news surfaced but we finally got an insight.
Today, January 19, The Chigaco rapper took to Twitter to update his fans about the news.
According to the tweets, Vic has been released.
“Wow what a trip”- wrote the rapper after which he shared another post, stating:
“I’m freeeeeee. love you all. God works in mysterious ways”
Prior to Mensa’s tweets, Chance the Rapper shared a photo of himself with Vic on Instagram, writing:
“Thanks for all the prayers. My boy back out here “
