Yesterday Dr. Dre sparked up hip hop social media with a short clip posted of his protege Eminem rapping the superfast verse of 2020 hit ‘Godzilla’. Along with the clip Dre also asked in the caption ‘Marshall Mathers Vs Who???!!
While Dr. Dre’s question might or not would have been for Eminem’s participation in a Verzuz battle, many fans responded with Nobody could against the Rap God, many also suggested some of the names of the rappers.
Award-winning Verzuz founder and producer Swizz Beatz himself hopped in the comments and name-dropped the New York Legend, Busta Rhymes as he commented “BUSTA!!!!!!!! Let’s go”. Timbaland who also helped found the Verzuz series has shared Dr. Dre’s clip on his Instagram, indicating that a Verzuz with Eminem might be on cards.
Back in 2020 podcaster, N.O.E.R revealed that Eminem himself wanted to face DMX in Verzuz. DMX later went against Snoop Dogg, a battle which is still the most viewed in the series history racking up around 3 million views in the first 24 hours.
