A 24-year-old Maryland rapper, Goonew was shot and killed on Friday (March 18) in Prince George’s County.

Goonew, also known as, Big Wizzle was best known for his unique whispery voice and numerous collaborations with Lil Dude. His death was reported by his management to The Washington Post. This is the second time rapper was shot. Nearly 2 years ago, Goonew survived another shooting. The late rapper even tweeted about the incident a year later, writing:
“I ain’t never show this pictures but July 5th last year they told my mother I was dead. I came back! I’m blessed & thankful I am still here.”
A suspect has yet to be apprehended by the police. The news was first relayed by the Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD), who tweeted that homicide had occurred around 5:45 P.M. in District Heights, Maryland. Roughly 2 hours after, the rapper passed in a hospital.

According to a PGPD press release, a reward of up to $25,000 is also offered for any information related to the suspects.
“Homicide Unit detectives are working to identify and arrest the suspects who fatally shot a man [Goonew] Friday in the unincorporated section of District Heights. A reward of up to $25000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.”
