Rapper/Producer Baby Keem’s 2021 was undoubtedly a pivotal mark in his career. From getting nominated in the Grammys Best New Artist Category to being picked as Billboard’s Rookie Of The Year, Keem managed to score his first Top 5 album on the charts with ‘The Melodic Blue’ and also secure collaborations with superstars like Kanye West , Travis Scott, and Kendrick Lamar.
To celebrate his Grammys Nom, Baby Keem sat down for an exclusive interview with The Grammys where the 21-year-old artist was asked about the possibility of a joint album with his cousin and mentor Kendrick Lamar. Keem has responded to the question with much positive approach as one may expect.
“That’s a good question. It’s like it’s 50-50. It could happen and it couldn’t, I don’t know. It just really depends on a lot of factors that I don’t have control over. Baby Keem is the first artist signed to Kendrick Lamar’s at service label pg-lang which was founded back in 2020. Since then both artists have linked up on three songs ‘family ties’ , range brothers’ and ‘vent’ which were included in Baby Keem’s album ‘The Melodic Blue’ , ‘family ties’ is nominated in ‘Best Rap Song’ and ‘Best Rap Performance’ categroies. Before this Keem has also contributed as a producer on Kendrick Lamar’s 2018 project Black Panther Soundtrack.
