Pusha-T recently gave an interview to Complex. The 44-year-old rapper is preparing to release an album that he swears will be his best creation yet. According to him, the new project will feature some of rap’s greatest names.
Pusha T is without a doubt one of today’s top coke rappers. In fact, according to G.O.O.D Music’s CEO, there is only one rapper in that genre who can compete with him. The rapper considers himself to be number two as well. In an interview with Complex, Pusha ranked the top three coke rappers, putting himself second after Jay-z.
“Hov [Jay-Z] is first, because he made Reasonable Doubt, and that is the grail of all drug levels, without being all about drugs. It spoke more to the lifestyle. Lyrically, I’m going to say that I am next. And I will say Jeezy is third, because I don’t believe there was a stronger moment in time than Trap or Die.”
Later in the interview, Pusha also named the top three rappers alive right now. The New Your rapper picked Tyler, The Creator, J. Cole, and NBA YoungBoy as today ’s leading rappers, leaving himself off the list.
“Tyler going crazy. Cole is doing his feature things, and YoungBoy, his output is dumb. To me, rap is just that multilayered and multi-genered that you have to name those three.”

Last week (March 24) Pusha-T was a guest on YouTube show, Hot Ones, where rapper talked about his forthcoming album and the creation process of it.
“I Just feel like, my brand is all about creating masterpieces and I do not know if masterpieces get churned out every six months, or every nine months, or even year,” he said, “Some good music can come from it but I am very specific on what it is that I’m trying to create. What I am trying to make.”
