One of the biggest festivals in America, Coachella has made a major update to its lineup today. As per the rumors that started a few days ago, it’s now official that Kanye West has dropped himself as one of the headliners of Coachella. Canadian superstar The Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia would be replacing Kanye instead.
In February Kanye went on multiple rants on his Instagram against Pete Davidson who’s dating his ex-wife Kim Kardashian currently. Ye also went against several celebrities who spoke against him and in the process, he made a racial slur aimed at popular TV personality Trevor Noah which resulted in the permanent deletion of Ye’s Instagram account.
Kanye had to pay a heavy price for the rant as just a few days later the news came out that ‘Album Of The Year’ nominee Ye was barred to perform at GRAMMYs Awards Show. This Sunday West was absent from the show as he bagged two awards. Sources connected to Ye told TMZ that he’s decided to pull the plug on his performance at the 2-weekend-long event in Indio, CA
The rest of the headliners of the festival are pop stars Harry Styles and Billie Eilish, whereas the big rap performers are Big Sean, Lil Baby , Megan Thee Stallion, 21 Savage, Run The Jewels, and more.
NO TRAVIS SCOTT AS WELL
Back in February Kanye took to his Instagram and promised that he plans to bring out Travis Scott during his set at Coachella but now it won’t be happening. Travis Scott was earlier removed from the Coachella line-up due to the tragedy at Astroworld. Check out the official announcement from The Weeknd and Coachella below:
