The Shop‘s latest episode has seen guests Rick Ross and Gunna appear for a conversation with Basketball icon LeBron James and businessman Maverick Carter. During the course of the episode, they discussed both Rapper’s journeys in the music industry, Bron was also asked to pick the best Rapper he has seen shooting the hoop.

Lebron without taking a moment immediately chose Chicago-based Rapper Lil Durk’s name, after being countered with 2 Chainz’s name, LeBron responded with “this ain’t fair cause he ( 2 Chainz) actually played ball though“. He then went on to shout out other Rappers who have played Basketball professionally “J. Cole cool but Sheck Wes.. he was a real ballplayer though. Like he can hoop for real!”

LeBron went on to praise Durk’s hooping skill “ Man he lifetime hoopin. He can hoop for real. Lil Durk he got a f**ckin cannon too. He got a peel!”. Gunna was asked if he has ever seen Durk playing hoop to which he confirmed he can play very well and he has joined his “What Happened To Virgil” collaborator in court too.

J. Cole and Sheck Wes has represented pro basketball teams last year. Cole played for Rwanda Patriots Club in Basketball Africa League whereas Sheck Wes has played for Paris Basketball and set his career-high points as well. Meanwhile, Atlanta Rap Star 2 Chainz was a ballplayer as a 10th grader and was the star sixth man for North Clayton High School. As compared to them Lil Durk hasn’t played any pro league or even at the school level but his love for the game definitely got King James’ attention.
