VIDEO: T.I gets booed during his April Fools comedy set in Brooklyn

T.I made a surprise appearance at the April Fools Comedy Jam at the Barclays Center on Saturday (April 9), alongside Nick Cannon, Tony Roberts, Bruce Bruce, Jacob Williams, Moneybagg Yo, and others.

T. I was supposed to perform some of his songs, but the rapper chose to try stand-up. According to video snippets circulating on social media, the audience appeared uninterested and booed him during his act.

See the clips below:

T.I went live on Instagram with Michael Blackson after his set to discuss his thoughts on his performance. Blackson rhetorically asked Tip if he like getting booed, to which the Atlanta rapper replied:

“Yes, I loved it! I didn’t feel like they were booing me. I felt like they were booing me as like ‘I dare you to be more funny, I dare you to be more funny, I dare you to overcome this, I dare you to be better.”

He also explained what started the booing. “I’ll tell you what it was,” he said. “Part of my set was that if anybody hears a word they don’t understand, raise your hand and I’ll give you the definition. Usually, the first hand that raises and I offer them the definition, there is a laugh and a cheer. This particular time, the word was “anonymity.” So the conversation was ‘enjoy your anonymity as long as you can.” According to T.I, the crowd began booing him as soon as he explained the definition of the word to someone who raised a hand. Towards the end of the interview Tip expressed how he feels about the whole thing, saying: “I don’t care what they show bro, I don’t give a f*ck, cause’ I ain’t seeking nobody’s validation. I’m not here for nobody else’s approval. I don’t give a damn.”
