Kendrick has made his fans wait quite a long time for his new album, as his last solo release was 2017’s Pulitzer-winning album ‘DAMN. and in 2018 Lamar released a soundtrack album for the Marvel movie Black Panther for which he curated and executive produced the album as well.
Last year in August Kendrick announced that his next album will be his final album under Top Dawg Entertainment which helped kickstart his career, “As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years. The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling.” said Lamar on his departure.
