Sad news comes out tonight from New York City of the legendary Hip-Hip DJ Kay Slay who was in the hospital battling Covid-19 for the last four months has unfortunately passed away at the age of 55.
Kay Slay’s friend DJ Silk confirmed this news to media outlets revealing that “Hip Hop lost a real gem. From the mixtapes to helping him launch Straight Stuntin‘ magazine and the whole What The Science project, the world not only lost a real dedicated person to the culture of Hip Hop but a source of bridging the gap in Hip Hop. I’m gonna miss my little brother.”
According to DJ Silk, Kay Slay was working on his project 200 Rolling Deep right before being admitted into the hospital in December 2021. The veteran DJ’s last album was The Soul Controller which included features from Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Griselda, The Game, Sheekh Louch, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, and more.
Back in January, Wack 100 provided an update on the health of DJ Kay Slay condition on Instagram claiming “UPDATE ‼️ @djkayslay still fighting. He’s been off the #ECMO machine for couple weeks now “
