Benzino has a new song out called “Zino Vs. the Planet,” in which he raps about his feud with his daughter, Coi Leray, as well as 50 Cent.
The beef between Coi and Zino started after she publicly accused him of threatening her mother after she refused to join the reality show “Growing Up Hip Hop”. Benzino retaliated, accusing Leray of belonging to the “social generation” that is disrespectful towards those who came before them. Even though they aren’t on speaking terms right now, the Boston rapper states in the song that he still loves Coi.
The song was largely geared at 50 Cent, who had claimed that Benzino and trans actress Shauna Brooks were dating in a series of social media posts. Benzino previously discussed his connections with Fifty when he spoke with Queenzflip about how he allegedly helped the Queens rapper after he was stabbed and turned up to his studio.
“When I first met Fifty, this was when he got stabbed up at the radio station. He got stabbed up at the Hit Factory on 54th Street, the big studio that everybody was going to. […] He is bleeding on the side from getting stabbed. He had no money.”
“I’m about to break the internet with this one,” Benzino says at the start of “Zino Vs. the Planet,” Later, in the song, he mentions that Fifty incident saying:
“50 keep it a hunnid/ I helped you when they jumped you/ I should have let them ghost you just like Kanan when they slumped you.”
