The Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia wrapped up Coachella 2022’s first-weekend last night. As you may know, Abel took over as the festival’s headliner when Kanye West dropped out at the last minute. It was an appropriate way to end the night, especially as The Weeknd’s performance looked to feature a tribute to his ex-girlfriend Bella Hadid.
During the outro of “Save Your Tears,” the Canadian R&B singer played a voicemail. Many people believe the lady speaking on the tape is Bella Hadid. You can hear her apologizing to the artist and confessing that she misses him.
“Hey, It’s me. I know it’s been a while but I was thinking about you and I’m sorry about everything… I miss you,” she says.
Bella Hadid and The Weeknd started dating in 2015. The pair had been in an on-again, off-again relationship for years until calling it quits in 2020. Even while it’s unclear when the message was recorded, it’s evident that the voice on the recording sounds very similar to the 25-year-old supermodel.
On Twitter, one fan wrote:
“No way The Weeknd played a Bella Hadid apology voice mail at Coachella lmao he goated.”
