Pink Floyd member Roger Waters says he’s more important than Drake and The Weeknd

One of the best-selling Rock bands worldwide Pink Floyd’s co-founder and bass guitarist/vocalist Roger Waters has made himself on top of headlines with a statement regarding two of the icons of Canada, Drake and The Weeknd in their own hometown of Toronto.

During his latest stop at Toronto’s The Globe and Mail, Roger told the reporter that he is not making a personal attack but with all due respect to the Weeknd or Drake or any of them, I am far, far, far more important than any of them will ever be, however many billions of streams they’ve got. There is stuff going on here that is fundamentally important to all of our lives.”

Roger Waters is participating in an event supporting Palestine and from the final line of his statement it seems like the 78-year-old musician expects more support from the stars of the current generation.

Later in the interview, he also called out the political leaders saying that “We hear a lot of rhetoric about human rights but we don’t see evidence that our leaders [care about] human rights.”
