Smith who won the award for Best Actor just a few minutes after the incident addressed the question of why he didn’t apologised to Chris during his acceptance speech. “I was fogged out that time. It was all fuzzy” says Will revealing that he reached out to Chris Rock who is not ready to talk and will reach out when he is ready.

Will then apologised to Rock admitting that his behavior was unacceptable and is here to talk whenever Chris is ready. He also sends an apology to Chris’s mother, brother Tony Rock and the rest of his family.

Chris Rock made a G.I. Jane reference while being sarcastic about Jada Pinkett’s hair loss. That joke prompted her husband Will Smith to go on stage and slap him right away and later shout “Keep my wife’s name out of your mouth”. Will Smith added he spent the last three months thinking about the nuances of his action.“There’s no part of that thinks that was the right way to behave in that moment.”

Will Smith who is now banned from all The Academy events for 10 years, also addressed his fellow nominees at the Oscar night and apologized to them all. He mentioned Questlove especially who won the Best Documentary award right after the incident happened. “I’m sorry isn’t sufficient” said Will.

In the final moments of the clip Will Smith addressed his fans and family who looked upto him before the incident saying “I hate when i let people down.” He added “The work i’m trying to do is deeply remorseful. I’m human and i made a mistake”
