Nicki Minaj To Be Honored With Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at MTV VMAs 2022

MTV has just announced the recipient of their prestigious Vanguard Award which is also named after King Of Pop Michael Jackson. The 2022 recipient of the award will be none other than the Hip-Hop star Nicki Minaj who is also listed as a performer at the award show which will air on August 28.

Nicki will be the only second femcee to receive this award which is presented by MTV to artists for ‘outstanding contributions’ and ‘profound impact’ on music videos and popular culture. Notable artists before Nicki who received this award were Missy Elliot, Kanye West, Beyonce, Rihanna, and more.

Nicki has been nominated 17 times at MTV VMAs and bagged the Moonman 5 times, this year she is nominated in the Best Hip-Hop category as well for her collaboration with Lil Baby’s ‘Do We Have A Problem’.Nicki last performed at the show back in 2018 where she performed the medley of her then newly released album ‘Queen’.

Nicki Minaj took to Twitter to announce the news of her receiving the Vanguard Awards and asked the fans to reply to the songs that she should perform at the awards except for her upcoming single ‘Super Freaky Girl’ which is scheduled to release this week i.e. Friday.
