Nicki Minaj creates history as ‘Super Freaky Girl’ debuts at Top on Billboard Charts

Nicki Minaj’s latest single ‘Super Freaky Girl’ which samples Rick James’ classic ‘Super Freak’, has debuted at #1 on Billboard Hot 100 Charts which tracks the hottest songs of the week in digital sales, streaming, and radio in the US and becomes her third song to top the charts after ‘Trollz’ and ‘Say So’.

With debuting at the Top with Super Freaky Girl’ Nicki Minaj has created history as she becomes the first female Rapper ever to debut multiple songs at #1. Before ‘Super Freaky Girl’ Nicki debuted at #1 with her 6ix9ine collaboration ‘Trollz’ back in 2020.

Another record that Minaj has put next to her name with ‘Super Freaky Girl’ becoming the #1 song is she is now the first solo female Rapper to debut at #1 on Billboard Hot 100 this Century. Before Nicki, only Ms. Lauryn Hill achieved this milestone when her song ‘Doo-Wop’ ( That Thing) debuted at the top in 1998.

Billboard reports that ‘Super Freaky Girl’  garnered 21.1 million streams, 4.6 million radio airplay audience impressions and 89,000 downloads sold in its first week. Nicki released a remix of the song mid-week where she re-introduced her alter ego ‘Roman and added a new verse on the track.

Notably, the music video of the song is yet to be released, Nicki has already shared a teaser for it on her Instagram which includes Vikings star Alexander Ludwig as a guest star. Watch the teaser here and listen to ‘Super Freaky Girl’ here.
