Eminem’s hit collaboration with the late Rapper Juice Wrld ‘Godzilla’ was a big surprise to fans as the track was released along with Em’s last album ‘Music To Be Murdered By’ more than two years ago.
On the latest episode of his own manager’s podcast, Eminem has finally opened up how the six-minute smash record with talented singer/Rapper Juice Wrld who had freestyled over Em’s instrumentals, came to be.
“We had been talking about Juice Wrld for a while. And we just wanted to do something with him. We liked his freestyles over my instrumentals. It was crazy. I had a different hook on “Godzilla” and never was really crazy about it. I had verses and that was the reason we asked him for the hook. He sent us two things that were great and the first one was that Monster hook. I was like ‘holy s**t.’ Eminem tells his manager Paul Rosenberg.
‘Godzilla’ like its hook went on to become a monster hit as of now it’s close to 1 Billion Streams on Spotify and certified 3X Platinum. A Lyrical Lemonade music video for the song was also released for the song which was directed by Juice’s frequent collaborator Cole Benett.
