Kanye West was kicked out of Skechers’ corporate office earlier this week after unexpectedly appearing. In response to an incident, a footwear company’s official stated that Ye was filming without permission and was asked to leave multiple times before being escorted out.
Following the event, the firm issued an official statement in which it stated:
“Skechers is not considering and has no intention of working with West. We condemn his recent divisive remarks and do not tolerate antisemitism or any other form of hate speech. The Company would like to again stress that West showed up unannounced and uninvited to Skechers corporate offices.”
Last Night, Saturday Night Live mocked Ye’s visit to Skechers’ headquarters with a fake Skechers PSA.
“Here at Skechers, we pride ourselves on two things: making stylish, comfortable shoes at an affordable price, and having zero tolerance for antisemitism,” said Cecily Strong, who played Skechers marketing director Diane Cunningham.
“That’s why, earlier this week, when Kanye West showed up at our corporate office, asking to work with us, we said no!” added Bowen Yang, who portrayed a Sketchers employee.
“Like the rest of the country, we were appalled by Kanye’s horrific comments,” Cecily continued. “We vowed to never work with him in any capacity. But, can we also point out that of all the companies he could have approached and been rejected by, he chose Skechers? [..] I guess you could say that Sketcher’s employees are kind of heroes.”
