21 Savage is speaking out about Takeoff, who was shot dead last week in Houston, Texas.
The Rockstar rapper talked about Takeoff’s calm and unproblematic nature on Akademiks’ Off The Record show, stating he had never seen the late rapper angry about anything.
“Takeoff was the type of [person], if I see Takeoff arguing with [someone], I know the other n-a is wrong, like automatically. He’s a man, he ain’t no b-h, but like, he is just not confrontational, he is in his own world and just wants to do what he does. He ain’t really like in the way or in the mix for real. He is just always in his own world,” 21 told Akademiks. “He is really quiet for real unless he knows you. He’s funny as hell though, but if he knows you. I ain’t never seen him mad or had an attitude. I ain’t never seen him out of character. He’s always the exact same way. Every time I see him, He’s gonna smile, dap you up, and mind his business bro.”
The Atlanta rapper also expressed his views on how Takeoff was killed, stating it will serve as a “lesson” for many people.
“I feel like it was a freak accident, a thousand percent. But I also feel like that s-t was eye-opening for them too [likely referring to Migos]… They had all their bulls—t going on and I feel like that was kinda like, I don’t know. […] I just feel like certain things just happen for certain reasons bro… I do not want to say he was a sacrifice or something, but more so like, a lot of people are gonna learn from this situation and realize a lot of s-t don’t be worth it. Not talking about the way he died, but just in life. A lot of feuds and arguments really don’t be worth it at the end of the day… We got one life. There’s ain’t no redos.”

After the news broke about Takeoff’s passing, 21 Savage paid tribute to the late rapper by sharing a series of images with the late rapper on his Instagram account, adding the caption: “It’s always the ones that don’t deserve it.”
