21 Savage was a guest in a Clubhouse where the Atlanta Rapper was caught giving remarks on New York legend Nas. The topic of the conversation was Rap music from the 90s still being relevant or not.
“N—s saying all that longevity talk, name somebody from back then who can drop an album right now?” asked the co-host to which a lot of names come up like Jay-Z, Too Short, E-40, Scarface among others.
Reacting to Nas’ name who just dropped the third installment of his King’s Disease last Friday, 21 remarked “He’s not relevant he just has a loyal fanbase. He still makes good music. In a shocking reaction, someone asked “Wait what do you mean by relevancy? to which the response from the co-host was “Mostly Connected or appropriate to what’s being done to be considered”.
Nas who turned 49 just a few months ago has released five albums since 2018 which include “Nasir” executive produced by Kanye West, three installments of “King’s Disease” all produced by Hit-Boy, and last year’s surprise drop “Magic”. Except for Nasir, every album mentioned above has been received very well by fans and most have them have reached number one on the US iTunes charts upon release.
Savage’s comments received backlash from fans as one said “Can’t believe 21 savage weak a– had the audacity to say that Nas was irrelevant”. Check out the clip and reactions below:
