Nas has just released his sixteenth studio album “King’s Disease III” last Friday and to discuss the album Queens legend visited The Daily Show With Trevor Noah to give a rare TV interview.
Trevor brought up Nas and JAY-Z’s infamous beef which is now squashed, he then mentioned the much talked about lyrics about JAY-Z on his song “Thun” where the Mass Appeal Records founder rapped “No beef or rivals, they playin ‘Ether’ on TIDAL / Brothers can do anything when they decide to / In a range rover dissecting bars from ‘Takeover’ / Sometimes I text Hova, like n—a this ain’t over”
Nas then sarcastically commented on the “this ain’t over” line saying “Well when i released the tracklist for the album other day , he released a picture with all his Grammys” said Nas with a big smile adding “yeah shoutout to him”
Nas is referring to the post made by JAY-Z’s friend and producer/mixing engineer Young Guru with the caption “It’s crazy how one 5 minute convo with HOV can refocus your entire life. I appreciate you Big Homie. My anchor is strong.”
Even though Nas said it sarcastically, it’s good old theories from fans that JAY-Z intentionally overshadows Nas’ music release. Charlamagne Tha God went ahead and asked this question directly to Nas a couple of years ago as well to which he replied “It’s a coincidence”
