How Drake Lost $1 Million Despite Picking Argentina To Win World Cup Final

Drake is a major gambler, and in recent months he’s made a reputation for himself as someone who consistently picks the wrong side when betting. The Canadian rapper has lost millions of dollars by making incorrect predictions, and this World Cup was no exception.

Argentina fans were trolled on Twitter after Drizzy revealed that he bet on Argentina in the World Cup finals against France. The “Drake curse” holds that if a rapper bets on you, you’re bound to lose, and even though Argentina did become the World Champions, the 36-year-old rapper still lost his wager. How so?

When it comes to betting on sports, specifically football, you have several options. Drake may have decided to wager on who will become World Champions in this circumstance, but that is not what happened. According to a screenshot the Certified Lover Boy posted on his Instagram stories prior to the game, Drake bet on Argentina to win the game, which only included 90 minutes of full time and no extra 30 minutes or penalty shootouts.

This means Drake lost $1 million as soon as the referee blew his final whistle at the completion of full-time (90 minutes), which resulted in a 2-2 tie. The two extra goals scored over the extra 30 minutes, resulting in a 3-3 tie, did not count, nor did the penalties.

As previously stated, Argentina won the World Cup against France in a penalty shootout, 4-2 in penalties, 2-2 in full time (90 minutes), and 3-3 in full time plus extra 30 minutes (120 minutes).

Without a doubt, this was the biggest sporting event in 2022, as well as the best World Cup final, as many have said. Lionel Messi won his first World Cup, cementing himself as the GOAT.
