Young Stoner Life Rap star Gunna has faced scrutiny recently after taking a plea deal in a RICO case which also has his long-time collaborator and mentor Young Thug arrested as the main culprit by officials.
DJ Akademiks who has been going on a rant against Gunna has made a claim on his Livestream last month that the 29-year-old Rapper might be planning an exit from YSL. “The label side, a lot of people believe that Gunna is going to be seeking to leave YSL just because the relationship is fractured. It’s just no way you go through this and come out on the other side where one guy is apparently looking at decades in jail and you came out in six months with a bad bitch. It’s probably not gonna work.” said Akademiks.
Earlier today Gunna’s assistant and Instagram model Brittany Reshun shared a clip on her story which includes an unreleased song from Gunna where he raps in his melodious voice “Heard the rumors said I’m packing up and flying out We ain’t going nowhere I’m staying here/Gone fight it out/I meant like f– it/Let’s just give these n— dark clouds
/Been gone for months And I just keep seeing these dark clouds”.
After being released from prison in December Gunna has continuously failed to get support from his own YSL labelmates and Lil Durk with whom he has made multiple songs has appeared to take shots at him in the new snippet. Despite Akademiks statement and various reports from media YSL is yet to make an official statement regarding Gunna’s future in the label.
