Former NWA member and legendary Westcoast Rapper Ice Cube is heading on a tour with Rap group Cypress Hill and Compton’s own The Game this December. So for the interview regarding the tour, his career and much more Ice Cube sat down with The Guardian where he answered fans’ questions.
While answering one fan’s question “If you had to choose two rappers to join your team in a rap battle, who would they be and why? Cube responded with Eminem with whom he has done a joint tour “Up in Smoke” with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg as well.
Praising the Detroit legend Eminem’s skills Ice Cube says “Eminem is one of the best rappers that’s ever blessed the mic”. For the second slot Ice Cube picks one of the most influential Rappers ever Lil Wayne saying “I feel the same way about Lil Wayne – I wouldn’t mind going into battle with those two.”
Eminem was a battle Rapper in his come-up years and known as one of the illest diss makers, on the other Lil Wayne whose punchlines are considered best to none and Cube himself who was known for his ferocious bars, a team full of potent Rappers like this will be hard to beat in a battle.
In the rest of the interview Cube also discussed parting ways with his former group NWA “When I left NWA, I felt liberated: I could do what I felt was right. In NWA, I didn’t always have the say on which way the group went or our topics, that was kind of in the hands of Eazy and Dre”
