Big news just dropped regarding the upcoming Clipse album:
▫️Kendrick Lamar is a CONFIRMED feature
▫️The album has been done for at least a year, but Def Jam didn’t want the Kendrick verse on the album given the UMG lawsuit and were worried about the optics of two Drake opponents linking on the same record
▫️Clipse then became a free agent and shopped the album to different labels which is how they landed with Roc Nation for the distribution
▫️There are no Drake references on the album, Push feels that’s done and he would only engage again if “he felt like it”
▫️GQ describes the record as “worth the wait. True to his word, Malice hasn’t missed a step, Pusha T is right there with him, and the production—spare, synthy and hard-hitting—is the most locked-in Pharrell has sounded in years.”
Pusha T also teased a line from Kendrick’s verse: “Therapy taught me how to open up/it also showed me I don’t give a f–k.”
