Cardi B is set to release a new single titled “Imaginary Players” from her upcoming sophomore album “AM I THE DRAMA?” this Friday. From the title itself Rap fans can remember it’s straight up nod to the legend JAY=Z’s own song with the same title.
Cardi herself confirmed that her song not only borrows the title from Hov’s track but it also samples his 1997 album “In My Lifetime, Vol.1″s cut.
Earlier today Cardi took to X (fka Twitter) spaces to confirm that Jay along with others have approved the song and they loved it as well claiming it to be “Real hip-hop”
“It was a lot of hip-hop heads in the building and they heard Imaginary Players and they absolutely love it” claims rejoiced Cardi, further talking about the song “The song is kinda long.. I have to get it approved by the one and only… I’m glad that I came hard and he loved it and everybody else loves it.”
Cardi B reveals Jay Z heard and approved her ‘Imaginery Players’ sample himself via Spaces.🖤
