ASAP Rocky fans, rejoice: the rapper has shared two new songs, “Trunks” and “Both Eyes Closed.”
Both tracks are taken from the soundtracks album to Highest 2 Lowest, the new Spike Lee film adaptation of Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 thriller, High and Low. Rocky is among the cast of Lee’s version, which also stars Denzel Washington, Jeffrey Wright, Ilfenesh Hadera, and Ice Spice. The movie hits theaters today (August 15th).
The new tracks follow Rocky’s most recent release, “Pray4DaGang,” which dropped last month. It was the latest track from the rapper’s highly anticipated (and long-awaited) fourth studio album, Don’t Be Dumb.
On the song “Trunks,” Rocky seemingly takes shots at Drake with the following lines:
BBL, think they built
They strainin’ when they trainin’ in the gym
They think they Wilt Chamberlain
Can’t name a b-tch who p-ssy I ain’t killed (For real)
You lame as shit, we ain’t forget
The muscles, they ain’t real, yeah, yeah, uh
