Gucci Mane has decided to address the situation with his label 1017’s signed artist Pooh Shiesty , who reportedly robbed him back in January along with his crew which included his father as well.
Pooh Shiesty , Gucci Mane Contract Dispute
The tension between Pooh Shiesty and his mentor, Gucci Mane, stems primarily from a public financial dispute that surfaced in mid-2024. While Shiesty was serving his prison sentence, he took to social media to express frustration over his contract with 1017 Records, claiming he hadn’t received a payment from the label in months. The Memphis rapper, who was instrumental in the label’s “New 1017” era success with his hit “Back in Blood,” suggested that he was being exploited while incarcerated. This led to a series of cryptic posts where Shiesty hinted at wanting to go independent, signaling a significant rift in what was previously seen as a tight-knit “father-son” dynamic in the industry.
Gucci Mane responded to the allegations by defending his business practices and his history of supporting his artists. He dismissed the claims of withholding money, suggesting that legal complications and the realities of Shiesty’s incarceration were the actual hurdles rather than any intentional greed on the label’s part. Despite the heated back-and-forth online, many fans and insiders view the “incident” as a standard contractual disagreement amplified by the isolation of prison. While the relationship remains strained, the two haven’t officially severed ties, leaving the future of Shiesty’s career under the 1017 banner a subject of intense speculation within the hip-hop community.
Clash Between Gucci Mane and Pooh Shiesty’s crew
According to federal prosecutors,on January 2026 Shiesty (Lontrell Williams Jr.) lured Gucci Mane (Radric Davis) to what was presented as a legitimate business meeting to discuss his status with 1017 Records. Once inside, Shiesty reportedly brandished an AK-style pistol and forced Gucci Mane to sign paperwork releasing him from his recording contract at gunpoint. During the ambush, Shiesty and eight co-conspirators—including his father and fellow rapper Big30—allegedly robbed Gucci Mane of his wedding ring, watch, and jewelry, while other members of the group assaulted and robbed his entourage. Federal authorities later linked Shiesty to the crime using data from his court-ordered ankle monitor and social media posts featuring the stolen valuables, leading to a series of federal kidnapping and robbery charges that currently carry a maximum sentence of life in prison.
